The Educational Talent Search Program (ETS) is a federally funded TRIO program designed to encourage student retention through high school graduation, and then enrollment in a postsecondary education institution (PSE). Federal regulations mandate that we serve 583 participants annually. The first priority is Dothan City School's students who are eligible for services.
About Us
There is no fee to participate in the ETS program; however, the student and parent must complete an application and return it to SAEOC. When a student is approved for ETS, orientation is scheduled with the parent and student. Then the student is eligible to particiapte in ETS school meetings and other activities through high school graduation.
Two-thirds of the students selected for participation must meet the following:
1. First generation college status
2. Potential for post secondary education
3. Meet specific income ccriteria as established by the U.S. Department of Education
Adults who meet the above qualifications may be eligible to be served provided slots are available.
Adults who have not graduated from a four year college may request technical help with admission and financial aid application (FAFSA).
